Zhoushan Daishan Sea Altar Restoration

Located in the Daishan sea altar of Zhoushan City, a famous high yielding area of marine fishery in China, for the control of transitional fishing of marine fish and the protection of fish resources, the main purpose of this project is to establish a place to promote the activity of worshipping the sea gods in the historical customs of local fishermen - "fishing moratorium festival . This project seeks to establish a public gathering place to promote the local fishermen's historical and customary rituals to the god of the sea - the "fishing holiday" and "fishing festival" - in order to strengthen the people's control and restraint of fishing. With an area of about 1,000 square meters, the project was shaped by cleverly transforming the abandoned stadium with the surrounding waste.

Taking into account the deep roots of local marine fishing culture, the design is based on the elements of island fishing architecture and sails, with black, white, gray and brown as the main colors in line with the characteristics of local residential fishing boats, and with the help of local natural materials such as green bricks, black tiles, white walls, solid wood and green and gray granite.
