GUO WANG · YUAN ER

The project is located in Guowang Hutong on the central axis of Beijing, extending to Zhaofu Street in the east and old Gulou Street in the west. Located in such a city with a long history and cultural heritage, the designer fully respects the original architectural appearance of the courtyard, retains its original spatial pattern, replans the courtyard and interior, makes full use of space, analyzes site resources, and creates in limited conditions, thus forming a new place with humanistic spirit.
The courtyard retains the original architectural appearance. Grey tiles, wooden eaves, grey walls and ancient trees still stand here after accepting the baptism of history, telling the story of the city with silent language and "containing" the city. A large area of glass Windows runs through the building, communicating outdoors and indoors between transparent and semi-transparent, and paying homage to the old building through its own reflectivity.
