Digital Workshop

This scheme uses the concept of “Origami and Light” to highlight the theme of “art and technology” in the Art and Technology Centre. The walls of the space mimic the variable origami shapes, enclosing and linking the space with non-Euclidean geometry slices. Through the continuous flow of light lines throughout the space, an art and technology atmosphere is created, reflecting the design concept of art as “the light of technology”.
In this design, the staircase serves multiple and diverse functions, unlike its usual role of simply facilitating spatial traffic between the ground and first floors. For example, during special events, the staircase can be used as a small-scale press conference or dynamic exhibition space, rather than just serving as a means of connecting the two floors. The design positions the main staircase as a platform for display. Models can walk down from the stairs to the ground floor and walk around to the corridor behind the stairs for a curtain call. Meanwhile, the staircases are connected to the ground floor lobby, creating more display spaces. The audience can watch the display from the space around the stairway on the ground and first floors.
