Project Description
Recognising Phuket’s tropical climate, the design has responded with deep overhanging roofs providing shade and protection from the rain. At the Entertainment Level, these roofs rise internally to high vaulted ceilings that define generous volumes. The surrounding glazed walls open out to walled gardens to the north and the dominant, horizon edged swimming pool that welcomes the sun every morning.
On arrival, the view floods the senses as the main spaces of the villa emerge and the floating staircase descends into the heart of the home. The kitchen and dining area flows seamlessly past a solid granite bar punctuating the transition to the main living area. This collection of volumes opens on three sides to allow the breeze free passage.
Tucked into the hillside, three levels cascade over terraces down to the sea. Designed to accommodate a disparate family group, six bedrooms are spread over all three floors. Strategically located casual sitting areas provide convenient places to read, converse or just chill. Below the pool-deck, an expansive gym enjoys the view and windows in the pool bottom create energy in the dancing light that filters through.
