CHAOZHOU Happiness Village-Environmental Improvement Project of Chaozhou Social Welfare Park

The six-hectare site was formerly a military base. After a typhoon, the Pingtung government planned it to be the largest social welfare institution in the region, serving people of all ages and physically and mentally disabled. Based on the above considerations, the design team created a space for all visitors. Outdoor, there is a place for children of all ages to run and play. The design team takes the paratrooper base as inspiration and combines it with the Taiwanese amusement facility for barricades, climbing, and swinging. On one hand, this plan is in line with the military elements, which can strengthen the memory of the local people of the park, and on the other hand, it is in line with the various stimuli required by children's development. As For the indoors, there are spaces for exhibitions and holiday markets, making the space a complex functional area. In addition to providing a variety of functions and features to social welfare organizations, the design team has installed many barrier-free facilities, responding to the "people-oriented" design. Ultimately, through the improvement of infrastructure, the park is truly barrier-free.
