Vivace — A Lively Modern City Living

The word ‘City Living’ is often associated with a fast-paced environment and stressful daily routines. This project aims to change this paradigm, using design as a tool to create an exciting yet classy home to accommodate the lively modern city life of a small household in the Queenstown area. The concept of the house is to achieve a vintage yet modern ambiance. Focusing on clean lines and geometric shapes, the mid-century modern style is accentuated with the use of bold colors and variations of textures. This brings playfulness into the space, yet still, keeps it coherent with the entire design of the room. In the more private areas, such as the bedrooms and wardrobe, darker tones are used to add a luxurious touch, resulting in more intimate spaces. Each styling of furniture and decor is placed carefully and no piece is placed without its purpose. In the end, the combination of the vintage and neutral palette has elevated the entire decor into another level of timeless.
