Project Description
The Horizon Project, the design team worked on a full refurbishment of a 1411 square feet residential apartment for a retired couple with their adult son. The design should be personalised for each family member, beyond just catering to their aesthetic taste and preferences. For example, the stylish black bedroom is for adult son and earth-toned colour (elegant master bedroom) for retired couple. The brief was to create a light, modern elegant and homey living space that echoes its surrounding sea views.
The wooden panel in entrance area which helps to increase the privacy of the homeowners. The greatest challenge that designers faced in the renovation was to satisfy the safety requirement, particularly in the rotation and operation of wooden panel because the homeowner has two grandchildren. The wooden pieces of the panel are connected to each other, as long as one of them is turned, the other pieces can be rotated into same angle automatically.
One highlight is how to beautify a long, narrow and dark corridor, the wardrobe that fulfill homeowners’ large storage requirements and integrate lighting effect into the design, which intermixed with the timeless earth-toned wardrobe.
