Project Description
Using data visualization to close the gap of accessibility in the growing field of study of the Digital Humanities.
In occasion of the 500 year anniversary of Leonardo DaVinci’s death in 2019, The Visual Agency in close collaboration with the Veneranda Biblioteca Ambrosiana, a renowned Museum in Milan has conceptualised, designed and developed an innovative data-visualisation instrument that enables the general public to independently elaborate on and discover the Codex Atlanticus, one of Leonardo DaVinci’s greatest masterpieces without boundaries and in away that has never been possible before.
This self-initiated bilingual project (Italian and English) www.codex-atlanticus.it is offering a panoramic overview of the Codex Atlanticus combined with drill-down and analytical functions to explore this epic work in more detail. Rearranging and filtering the pages of the Codex uncovers insights into Leonardo Da Vinci’s life, enabling all users to explore his thought evolution throughout his life.
