It is a public space planning project for headquarters of an enterprise. Marble and wood set as the thematic visual presentation, combining color, texture, grain and figure to define and make expressive different functional zones.
White marble, black mirror, and planks of wood in variable widths give dimensions while simultaneously convey a stately impression. Among the natural materials lighted up the company name in distinguishing pinkish purple, making a statement. Guided by the traffic flow to the elevator and stair landing characterized by brown marble and rose gold, giving an appereance of unobtrusive luxury. The waiting lounge is defined by planks of wood sharing the same pattern of that on the logo wall. Opening between planks allow light coming through the floor-to-ceiling windows to naturally flow through connected rooms, enhancing the visual impact of larger spaces.
While black mirrors, glass and metal elements add a touch of opulence, a general consistency in material is made aesthetically expressive through the nuance in texture, grain and figure, which requires no excessive decoration, communicating “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication,” as Da Vinci wrote.
