The new UK office of international property developer HB Reavis is designed to boost staff wellbeing and health. Along with materials, finishes and furnishings that follow the WELL Building Standard, good light levels, daylight harvesting and clean air monitoring ensure the quality of work environment.
The firm previously occupied two floors of a nearby office building with a layout that did not encourage communication and lacked a diversity of work environments. To address this, Evolution Design created a people-centred workplace with a variety of bright and inspiring spaces tailored to suit different tasks: quiet working areas, focus booths, phone boxes for individual work along with informal and formal meeting rooms and creative areas.
Designed to retain an industrial feel that reflects HB Reavis’ construction background, the office showcases brick, reclaimed wood and metal along with exposed ceilings and Crittal window-style partition walls. To increase wellbeing, the space is filled with plants, foliage walls and sustainable wood finishes while the large windows, overlooking the River Thames, flood the office with natural light, reducing reliance on artificial blue light.
